The DES-102F is a two-port Ethernet module design to support the DES-1024R+ and DES-1016R+ Switches as an optional slide in module, which provides a two port 100BASE-FX Fast Ethernet connection. As an expansion module, the DES-102F increases connection distances without requiring signal regeneration using a repeater to re-boost the signal. With the two SC type port connectors, connection utilizing a fiber link can be initiated to servers or backbone switches for network expansion. DES-102F is targeted at small and medium businesses.
The DES-102F is compliant with IEEE 802.3u 100BASE-FX standard, supporting both auto-negotiation at full duplex modes and flow control signaling on each individual port. Being an expansion module, the DES-102F endorses all of the Layer 2 functionalities of the DES-1024R+ and DES-1016R+.
